School council elections are held at the beginning of the Autumn term with pupils being elected from each class (Years 2 – 6). All potential candidates have to write and present a speech to their class, outlining why they think they will be a good candidate. Then their fellow pupils vote for candidates they think will be most suitable for the role.
The school council meets regularly to discuss and develop their own roles in school.. It is a perfect opportunity for individuals to develop speaking, listening, negotiation and teamwork skills.
